VMware products can now be organized into four main categories: VCF, VVF, VVS, and VVEP:

  • VCF : VMware Cloud Foundation
  • VVF : VMware vSphere Foundation
  • VVS : VMware vSphere Standard
  • VVEP : VMware vSphere Entreprise plus (New)

VCF and VVF are for customers who use vSAN technology as storage providers. VVS and VVEP are for those still using traditional 3-tier storage systems.
