VMware: Licensing changes for VMware portfolio
In November 2024, Broadcom announced important updates to the licensing models for its VMware portfolio and introduced a new option for customers. 
VMware products can now be organized into four main categories: VCF, VVF, VVS, and VVEP:
- VCF : VMware Cloud Foundation
- VVF : VMware vSphere Foundation
- VVS : VMware vSphere Standard
- VVEP : VMware vSphere Entreprise plus (New)
VCF and VVF are for customers who use vSAN technology as storage providers. VVS and VVEP are for those still using traditional 3-tier storage systems.
